Daily Free Horse Racing Tips - Black Book Rosehill

On Saturday the track at Rosehill was rubbish and most people in the media are afraid to say anything.

Manipulation of the rail seemingly is the cause, so I pose the question…

Why don’t we just leave the rail in the true position and allow the jockeys to find the best lanes?

It seems a viable solution to me.

I don’t mind track patterns, but when you seemingly can’t win because you don’t find the fence in run - that’s unacceptable in our game.

On Saturday, you could argue that mostly the best run in the race didn’t win because of the pattern of the day.

8 of 10 winners found fence in run - but it played worse than that in my humble.

Good thing is that there is merit in horses who had the pattern against, so let’s try to find them.

For those of you that don’t know me, I am Blake Johnston.

Ex bookie, I know work for the punter.

I was crowned Australia’s Best Tipster in 2024 by The Great Tip Off - an externally verified tipping site that includes all the media tipsters.

Here are my horses to follow from the meeting at Rosehill.

SOMMERTON SMART: He looks a future Highway winner to me! He was very good second-up run with the pattern of the day against. Began well before covering extra ground without cover. Peaked late but was entitled too. Can only improve from a better draw.

INDI SPRINGS: She began well before being restrained to sit wide with cover early, hit the line against the pattern of the day. She’s deep into the preparation but is flying and can only improve from a better draw.

EMBRACE THE WIND: Wide draw and pattern of the day against. Began ok before being restrained to the back, he was back in trip and hit the line strongly late. Further now from a better draw would be ideal.

CHEVAL DE BOIS: Began well before being restrained. Made an early move and didn’t have the pattern of the day to suit. Peaks next time.

IT’S A KNOCKOUT: Give another chance. She found the perfect spot (on any other Saturday) but was one from the fence against the pattern of the day. She was coming back through the line. Mile suits now. Great ride from Zac Lloyd.

ALTHOFF: Just about the run of the day. Began ok first-up before being restrained, never crossed down to the fence against the pattern of the day. Loved the close. Wins second-up from a better draw.

KIMBERLEY SECRETS: Very good first-up run. Began well and sat one from the fence against the patter of the day, winner had softer run back to the inside. Ran well and can only improve second-up.

SOVEREIGN HILL: Forgive first-up. Began well but wasn’t pushed, happy to sit wide without cover. Expect sharp improvement next time up in trip from a better draw.
