Everest Day Tips 2026: Free Randwick Best Bets for Saturday

G’day Punters,

Last week, we should have gone two from two.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda.

Alabama State got the job done at around $4, and then Ocean Tsunami was an absolute train wreck.

We get the double, and you’re on your way to JB Hi-Fi to get that PS5 you’ve had your eye on.

This Saturday is one of the biggest days on the spring racing calendar. We’ve got 4x G1s across Randwick and Caulfield, with The Everest at Randwick and the Caulfield Cup in Melbourne.

Saturday Track Conditions: Wet at Randwick, Drying at Caulfield

We’re getting opposite ends of the spectrum with the weather. It’s bucketing down in Sydney, while drying conditions are the order of the day in Melbourne (for once!).

That makes wet-track form the key to Saturday’s Randwick tips. Both of my best bets below are at Randwick.

Randwick Race 2 Tips: Saffron Veil Is My Best Bet

SAFFRON VEIL is my best bet (Randwick Race 2, 1400m).

She was a moral beaten two back, and then won despite no favours last start.

The market loved her last start, she gets to 1400m, and J-Mac (James McDonald) sticks.

Randwick Race 10 Tips: Thebelmontgangster Is the Value Roughie

THEBELMONTGANGSTER is the best double-figure chance I’ve seen in a while (Randwick Race 10, 1400m).

He ran OK first-up in the wrong spot, and he thrashed the two rivals who went with him on the inside.

His best measures up and he gets conditions to suit (he’s a mudder).

Quick note: He was the first emergency, but he’s already snuck into the field.

Everest Day Best Bets: Quick Summary

  • Best bet: Saffron Veil, Randwick Race 2

  • Double-figure value: Thebelmontgangster, Randwick Race 10

Good luck if you follow,

BJ

Before working full-time for punters, Blake spent years inside the betting industry, working with major bookmakers including bet365, UBet (Tabcorp), Unibet, and TopBetta (now BetMakers). His role involved compiling markets, assessing winning probabilities, and understanding how bookmakers frame prices — experience that now shapes his analytical approach to betting.

This industry background gives Blake a rare perspective on how betting markets are created, where prices can be wrong, and how disciplined punters can identify long-term value in horse racing markets.

Blake is also the 2024 Tipster of the Year (TheGreatTipOff) and hosts one of Australia’s most popular horse racing podcasts, where he breaks down races, discusses betting strategy, and helps punters understand the thinking behind professional wagering decisions.

Through The Leg Up, Blake provides:

• Daily horse racing tips across major Australian meetings

• Saturday feature race previews and Group 1 analysis

• Black Book horses and replay analysis

• Betting strategy and bankroll management insights

His work focuses on structured form analysis, speed maps, race shape, and market intelligence, helping everyday punters approach betting with the discipline and framework used by professionals.

Today, The Leg Up Australia has built a community of thousands of punters who follow Blake’s insights to bet smarter and understand the game behind the game.
