Horses To Follow — Randwick
April 25th, Anzac Day
Put these in your black books and follow them into their preparations.
BANGKOK HOTTIE (R1) — Good third career start. Let down well between the 400m and 200m before powering through the line. Will relish any further distance. Looks a black type filly of the future.
CHILLI MARGS (R2) — Given no hope from too far back. Began well from the wide draw before being restrained to last. Looking for further now.
BRAVISSIMO (R3) — Very good return. Got back from the sticky draw before working through the line nicely. Further with a senior jockey suits.
CONFIDENTIALITY (R5) — Might be a black-type filly. Began well before settling around four lengths from the lead. Liked the way she built through her gears. More to come.
ROTAGILLA (R6) — Too good. Began ok before being restrained with a change of tactics — ridden further forward (it didn’t happen) — and was able to overcome the race shape and win. Liked his late strength. More to come.
MAISON LOUIS (R7) — Began ok before being restrained. Liked the way he hit the line late over an unsuitable trip with the race shape against. Looks to be back in good order.
CABOCHE (R7) — Given no hope. Began ok, got shuffled back, never really clear until inside the final furlong. Can improve sharply second-up with a senior jockey booked.
BELLA MONTAGNA (R8) — Good first-up effort. Watch Wadick ride her through the line — they might have a grand final ready for her early in the preparation. Extra trip and senior rider would suit.
THEBUDGIESMUGLA (R8) — Drew wide and went back to last. Had the second-best last 200m of the meeting. Can improve sharply second-up.
The big racing never stops — and it’s ramping up in QLD. G2 Queensland Guineas and Victory Stakes day at Eagle Farm is this weekend, with G1 racing just around the corner.
